Supporting Positive Aspects of Care
Alpaca is an NPO based in Japan focused on promoting positive aspects of care giving for people with cognitive decline. Our mission is to collaborate with families to develop ways to create positive care experiences focused on people, relationships and wellbeing using citizen science approaches to research.

Why Positive Aspects of Care?
Caring for someone with cognitive decline can be challenging and stressful, but it can also provide care givers with important benefits. As well as strengthening family relationships, being involved in care can make a meaningful difference and provide sense of personal growth. Not only do these experiences help reduce the difficulties and stress of day-to-day care giving, they also foster a deeper appreciation about your loved ones and the fullness of life.
Citizen Science: Kobe MCI project

Alpaca promotes citizen science to enable people with dementia and their families to collaborate with researchers to conduct the research and evaluate the results. We are conducting a citizen science project in Kobe with people with mild cognitive impairment and their families to develop a personalized dementia prevention program for each family. This project will be conducted in partnership with 3 Kobe universities
